Rachel Rhodes, owner and baker of BabyCakes Bakery and cupcakery, grew up in the Alton area. Rachel opened up BabyCakes in early summer 2013. Baking runs in the family! Rachel's great grandmother was a Pillsbury Bake-Off winner. As a finalist in 1971, Pillsbury sent her to Hawaii to compete.
In grandma's community, she was known for all of her baking and funded family trips right out of her kitchen. When grandma tried Rachel's cake, she gave her the best compliment ever. She said, "This is the best cake I've ever had!"
BabyCakes now makes wedding cakes, cupcakes, anniversary cakes, cookies, specialty cakes, and much more. The legacy lives on through the baking recipes. Rachel went to school at the Art Institute in Pittsburg, PA, trained in graphic design, and uses her creativity in her recipes.
BabyCakes is located across from Lewis & Clark College in Godfrey. Let us cater your next corporate meeting, party, event, birthday party, and/or family gathering.
